South East Blaze play their first ever games

The South East Blaze U12 team played in their first ever matches at The Crags as part of the Edinburgh Matches (a no score league designed to let kids learn the game in a fun environment). The team played two games first versus East Lothian Dragons and the second was against City of Edinburgh Kings.

This was a brilliant step forward for the U12 mixed team which train at Liberton High School on Wednesday from 4.45pm, it was a very positive experience for coaches, parents and most importantly the players. They got to test their skills out against the other clubs in Edinburgh and did very well.

South East Blaze has only been established since August 2018 and currently has 10 participants training weekly, so it is brilliant to see the progress being made, the satellite club to Blaze was created to provide young people in the Liberton and Gracemount are an outlet for basketball and to also provide volunteering opportunities for high school pupils at Liberton and Gracemount.

We are looking forward to more members joining and them eventually progressing towards playing in BasketballScotlands Regional Development Leagues.
