Basketball for Kids

Blaze basketball open sessions for primary school aged players are growing in popularity each term.

The P4 – P7 sessions are for girls and boys who are just starting out in basketball or currently play at their school and want to develop their skills.

The P1-3 session for girls and boys introduces basketball in a playful way. This session is run alongside the P4-7 session on Thursdays to support siblings and friends of different ages.

Social session up and running

Our Seniors Social session runs on Wednesday evenings, 19:30 to 21:30 in the Games Hall, in the basement of Boroughmuir High School. The session is aimed at players who may cover a wide range of ages and levels of experience, but who have in common a desire to play friendly basketball, with a competitive edge, without entering a competitive league environment.

Flynn Wins Regional Coach Award

Blaze Youth National League Head Coach, Adrian Flynn, has been awarded the East/Central Performance Development Coach of the Year by basketballscotland.

The award is given for coaching at the national league, Talent Development Programme (TDP) and national team level.

Blaze Nets The Crags SC

The Crags Sports Centre is set to become a basketball hub under new plans put forward by a consortium led by a local sports club.

Boroughmuir Blaze Basketball Club joined forces with national governing body basketballscotland to submit a bid for the Council-owned Bowmont Place facility.

2011 Blaze Tournament

Blaze are very pleased to announce the 2011 Boroughmuir Blaze Tournament.

The tournament marks the 50th year of Boroughmuir Basketball Club and also the return of the annual tournament that ran for 39 consecutive years until recently.

The Blaze 2010-11 Season Awards ceremony will be held during the tournament when a Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player from each age group will be announced.

Blaze and Kings unite for Edinburgh Basketball

Blaze and Kings recently joined forces to form the Edinburgh Under 14 Squad to compete in the Scotland Under 14 Challenge Tournament held at The Peak, Stirling on Saturday April 30.

Five players were selected to the Scotland Under 14 Squad from the Edinburgh team – more than any other team at the tournament.
